Great video !….we love hidden gems. We think we are currently living in one. We are currently in Guatemala, where tourists and expats tend to go to Antigua and Lake Atitlan. We are 2 hours from Lake Atitlan and about 3 1/2 hours from Antigua, in Guatemala’s second largest city of Quetzaltenango, aka Xela (Shay-La). For those of you who do not like hot weather, Xela is a wonderful city. We have been here for two months and have LOVED it. We plan on being here for at least a year. We can tell you already that when we finish traveling in 5 or 6 years, Xela will absolutely be a contender for where we want to finally settle down. At almost 8000 feet in elevation, day highs are around 70…lows around 45-50 and locals are very friendly. There are 3 modern malls, Walmart…any conveniences you may want.
Those are some really great suggestions. We’ve been wanting to go to Ipoh for a while now. Maybe soon.
You are both so very generous to share these hidden gems. Thank you 🎉
Nice list. I’ve only been to one of them, Ipoh. It’s a charming city, a place to get away from the business of KL and relax for a while. You didn’t mention it but Ipoh has some amazing cave temples. I will have to consider visiting these other hidden gems sometime. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Please check this out! All about Ipoh but this is just part of it. https://youtu.be/ZjnVc3Nswps?si=BOklXhfO0yDN0xtG
